This is a vintage Beck London microscope (Model 47) made by R. & J. Beck Ltd., London in 1950s (serial No. 34811). The microscope comes with handbook and wooden case.

  • Three rotatable objective lenses: three objective lenses, marked

    • Beck x10 /0.17 ACHRO -/160;

    • Beck x45 ACHRO /0.65 .18/160 and

    • Beck x90 ACHRO /1.0 Oil/160

  • Eyepieces: two eyepiece lenses, marked 25mm x10 and 17mm x15

  • Focus systems: Rack focus wheel and fine focus knobs on both sides.

  • Square stage with slide clips

  • Condensing lens (height adjustable) and filter ring

  • Rotatable light mirror (double sided plano-convave mirror)

  • Solid steel construction

  • The stand can be reclined horizontally or at an angle

  • Extending draw tube (with scale markings) to accommodate the image focus of various objectives and eyepieces

  • Microscope size:

    • Height: approximately 300mm tall when set up (with about 90mm focus adjustment distance by focus wheels and a further 60mm drawtube adjustment)
